Territory:               London (Preferably Located within M25)

Reporting To:        Technical Service Team Leader

As a Field Service Engineer you will be working in laboratories on exciting flow cytometry and diagnostic instrumentation right at the forefront of the medical industry which is directly improving patient lives.

Main Responsibilities

Use your interpersonal skills, technical skills and knowledge to deliver industry-leading service to our customers.

  • Install new instruments, perform preventative maintenance, attend to high-priority calls, and provide basic training and advice if required.
  • Use your initiative to support colleagues and contribute to business success.
  • Actively promote BD products and services.
  • Liaise with colleagues and other departments to share information and formulate plans to resolve customer queries.
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs and projects.

Person Specification

  • Relevant qualifications in engineering or biology or equivalent demonstrable experience e.g.;-

        1. Experience in the operation and routine maintenance of flowcytometers together with some technical skills

            and a high desire to develop technically or

        2. a proven track record in a field service engineering role within a hospital or laboratory environment.

  • Demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills are essential
  • Excellent customer and interpersonal skills at all levels is a must
  • Ability to positively contribute to a team environment, supporting others as well as independently.
  • Good communicator (written and oral)
  • Action oriented self motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Well organised, process oriented and diligent with an eye for detail and quality.
  • Willing to travel at times to support customers and colleagues.
  • Current drivers licence
  • Hands-on experience in flow cytometry would be a major advantag
  • Working knowledge of PC and Mac hardware, operating systems and basic networking is a plus
