WEASEL is a general purpose flow cytometry data analysis and display program developed at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research (WEHI). It provides many different display formats and the extraction of a number of numerical or statistical measures.

Multiple data files can be compared side-by-side on screen and there is facility for batch processing. Display layouts may be saved as may high quality graphics which may be incorporated into other documents. One of the program's design parameters was to make operation as simple and intuitive as possible.

WEASEL is not provided free, but a fully functional copy may be downloaded free for testing

This software has been developed and used at The Walter and Eliza Institute and is provided in a spirit of collegiality for testing by interested parties. It is provided without warranty of any kind and no claims are made regarding its suitability for any task. All are Java programs and will run on systems with Java 1.4.2 or later installed. Unpack the downloaded file to extract the application and launch by double-clicking.

WARNING: Do not subject primary data to any of these programs. All files should be backed up prior to processing.

WEASEL version 2 runs on Macintosh OS X and on Windows PC (or any other system) with Java2 installed. Apart from the standard functions that are expected from current flow cytometry data analysis programs, it has a number of novel features, a few of which are described below.  Weasel, configured for Macintosh, Windows PC or other systems, is available for public download. Version 2.7 was released 22July09 and is available at WEASEL Installation.
